I am interested in the phrase" an apologetic twinkle in his eyes ": I have been discussing this phrase, as used by John Braine with some french students and we are at a loss to understand it.
*sigh* I love this story...even though it's not very happy. I'm an angst whore, heh. Well written, well thought out--I would've been stupid and given it away in the beginning unintentionally because that's the way I am--very good! Love it!
I don't know if I want a sequel yet. Maybe...but I like where it is now. The last line is so heartbreaking--but beautiful. Yeah, I'm not very profound. *adds to favorites*
Wow. That was great. Kept up the mystery til the end, lots of lovely angst and bittersweetness. Sigh. I can't decide whether my heart bursts or crumbles!
very nice fic! hey now ;) angst is so great! hehehehehehhehehe it makes everything so much interesting! I love how you don't say what happened to john! that's great! you did a great job of workingin the 'promise' and not giving it away until the very end! I was like 'hmmm what did he do?' and came up with like six things before you said what it was! excellent!
