Author's Chapter Notes: This isn't betaed, yet. I'll change it when my lovely beta is finished with it.

As any other day, Elisabeth woke up too early, to start the day reading too many reports. Did her daily morning routines, went to get some coffee and said good morning to the night shift, who were still on duty for half an hour.

It was a typical morning as all the others.

It wasn’t until she had powered up her computer that she noticed there was something different about her office.

The clay pot she’d gotten from John a few years ago was still standing on his regular spot. She picked it up and opened it, thinking about when he’d given it to her.

Inside the pot was a small note, which said:

‘This isn’t it.’

Confused, she had no idea what it meant and started to get through the reports.

There was still something, though, that was out of place. But what?

She glanced through the room. The two sculptures she’d gotten from him in their second year were still where they’d always been.

She picked one up and saw that again, there was a note.

‘This isn’t it either.’

Now she was starting to get curious. ‘What wasn’t it?’

She got up from behind the desk and looked around the room.

Then she saw the book she’d gotten from him on their third year, was now lying on the couch instead of it’s usual place on a shelve. She returned the book to its rightful place and saw that there was again a note.

‘Almost. Look closer.’

Intrigued she started scanning the shelves. And then saw what was different. Next to an artefact she’d found on a planet was a small box. She picked it up and again saw a note attached to it.

‘Finally! Happy birthday! Open it.’

She opened the box and found in it yet another note and a ring.

The note only said:

‘Look up.’

The ring was definitely made by one of the Athosian blacksmiths. It had an Ancient symbol on it with in the middle a tiny emerald. It was the most beautiful ring she’d ever seen.

She looked up to see a very serious looking John Sheppard standing in front of her, causing a familiar tingle creep down her spine.

He walked over to her.

“Elisabeth. Every year we’ve been here, I have given you something from this galaxy. An Ancient artefact or a relic. Something I knew you’d love. Now there is only one other thing I have to give you, and it’s from our galaxy.”

“What?”

“Me.”

He gently probed the ring out of her hands and got down on one knee.

Elisabeth’s heart stopped.

“Will you have me as your husband?”

She couldn’t say anything and answered by giving him a shaky but definite nod.

The day had turned out to be anything but ordinary.
