One week later.
It was 6:30am in the morning, and Elizabeth and Teyla were excited out of their bones! It was the annual school fair. The planning committee had decided to do it early at the start of the year, rather than later when students would have dropped out, spent all their money etc.
Elizabeth took out her journal and winked to Teyla. Teyla jumped on the bed next to ‘Lizzy’ (what she now called her) and started to scribble some crazy stuff on the page, opposite to what Elizabeth was writing on.
Elizabeth wrote:
Dear Messed up Journal,
Today is the Annual School Fair, and I’m so excited! John and Ronon will be picking us up today… Not sure why, but anyways, Teyla says there are Ferris wheels, carousels, cotton candy and everything! I haven’t been to one since I was a little girl so... now I’ve got butterflies! It just seems so ugh… FUN!
And with her entry written down, she peeked over to what Teyla was writing on the page next to her.
Elizabeth chuckled at what she saw. All Teyla had done was manage to draw hearts with Ronon placed in the centre. “Oh. Someone’s head over heels this morning.”
Teyla looked up and smiled.
One of the things that Elizabeth had come to realise was that Teyla had the most beautiful smile she had ever seen.
Even if she walked into the most boring class, like maths, she would just lighten up the whole room.
Suddenly there was a squirming sensation from one of the sleeping bags. It was moving.
“Oh My God.” Whispered Lizzy.
“What’s wrong Eliza- Oh God!”
They both stared at one of the sleeping bags.
The two jumped up to the corner of Elizabeth’s bed, carrying on like 6 year olds.
A fuzzy nose made it way out of Teyla’s sleeping bag. It was pink and wet, then a foot or some furry thing was revealed. Teyla jumped down and bravely picked up the hockey stick, which the 2 played hockey with yesterday.
She carefully walked over the to moving thing. “Be careful,” warned Elizabeth. The browned eyed girl on the floor gave a wince then continued with her hunt.
The paw and nose had retreated, and it looked like a war was happening inside. The sleeping bag was rolling like mad on the ground. Elizabeth held her hand out, as Teyla dropped the stick and retreated to the top of the bed.
“Elizabeth, Teyla!” a voice form downstairs shouted.
“Ronon and John are here!” Only a few moments later, the boys opened the door and walked in to see the girls terrified with shock, staring at a rolling sleeping bag on the floor.
“Ahh!” yelled John, as the thing rolled it’s way towards him. Ronon jumped for the bed. “Nice of you to join us,” smiled Teyla. “Pleasure,” he replied.
Elizabeth jumped down from the bed and grabbed the hockey stick. Teyla and Ronon laughed, as John was squashed into a corner from the ‘thing’. Oh, if only there was a camera in sight.
“John catch!” shouted Elizabeth.
She threw the hockey stick to John. But he was too focused on the creepy moving thing trying to locate him. The hockey stick fell on his head. “Ow!” he exclaimed.
“Sorry,” whispered Elizabeth.
The bag turned course. It was heading straight for Elizabeth. She stood there in terror for she was frozen. Couldn’t move, let alone speak.
A figure flew from the corner of her eye and tackled the beast. Ronon was squirming over it trying to determine what it was, as John tried to find the back legs or erm… whatever it had?
“Up here!” squeaked Teyla.
“Oh.” Elizabeth pointed to the clock. It was 7:15am. School was at 8:30, so they had to hurry up now.
“Got it!” Ronon yelled. His arms reached in Teyla’s sleeping bag, and pulled out a scruffy-looking dog.
“OLLIE!” she exclaimed.
“Mmmm…” mused John.
“Heh, you were scared of a puppy.” Teyla pointed out.
“Yeah Sheppard, nice one.”
Ronon was smiling. His teeth were displaying quite a show. They we pearly white and sparkling clean.
“How was I suppose to know it was Ollie? Anyway, you three are just as bad, propping yourself up high on Elizabeth’s bed.” John stuck his tongue out at them.
“How about we stop bickering, and hurry up so we can get to the fete okay?”
The two boys stood there and nodded their heads. The door was wide open as they made their way out to it. “Pick you up at 8:00am then?” Ronon asked them as the stopped quickly outside her door.
“See you then,” Teyla said.
Elizabeth walked up and closed the door.
The two stood there and looked at Ollie on the ground. Oh the scare that dog had given them.
