Their first Christmas, they were busy battling the Wraith. Elizabeth completely forgot the holiday, and it wasn’t until she found a small wrapped box on her desk that she remembered. John gave her a necklace crafted by one of the Athosian’s that year.

Their second Christmas, John made sure he was on Atlantis for the holiday, and even made a special trip to the mainland to find a tree. They put it in the gateroom, the scientists had created lights, and everyone made an ornament to hang on it. John got Elizabeth a small idol that year; symbolizing peace and balance; that he traded for off world.

Their third Christmas, they got mistletoe from Earth. They sprung up in random places overnight, including but not limited to the infirmary, armory, mess hall, and the Atlantis TV room. The one in the infirmary had surprised Rodney and Carson, and after a quick peck, they had vowed revenge. A sprig had then appeared over the door to Elizabeth’s office, and had caught her and John unawares. It was their first kiss not under alien influence. John still got her a gift that year though – a stuffed animal that looked exactly like Sedge.

Their fourth Christmas, John got a Santa costume to properly introduce the Athosian children to an Earth tradition. They were quite enthusiastic, and easily got into the holiday spirit. Elizabeth got her gift early that year – a Mrs. Clause costume – which John convinced her to wear on Christmas Day. She wore it on one condition – that he took it off of her that night. And he did. With vigor.

Their fifth Christmas came early. While off world, AR-1 found another ZPM. This one they were able to send to Earth. Gate travel between the two galaxies just became easier, and it meant that some members of the expedition could spend the holidays with their family. Elizabeth took John to meet her parents. John got her a diamond ring that Christmas. Elizabeth said yes.

Their sixth Christmas, John and Elizabeth were stuck in the infirmary. Celebrations were going on around them, Lorne filling the Santa position this year. By the time all the presents were handed out, John and Lizzie were allowed visitors, and the last gift of the day was handed around – Jadyn Meredith Sheppard. Rodney glared at John, but felt touched. John got Elizabeth a bracelet with their daughter’s name and birthstone on it that year.
